Act Reviews 2024 / 2025 Season

overdone, with the use of white and blue for the main stage area and amber to help denote the time of day outside the window. There were a few cast members who seemed to have no or very little makeup on and this showed under the lighting as they did look wan compared to others. Ada Burke, Olwen Senogles, Karel Lees and Michelle Hollamby had ensured that every character looked correct. Patrick looked very dapper in his DJ and all the ladies had appropriate accessories, jewellery and bags that went with their costumes. The props team did a sterling job of representing a post WWII drawing room with, pictures, a local Gazette, dial telephone, dead violets and figurines, etc. The gunshots were expected and loud and, to the observant amongst us, the red flashes made on the fire could be seen. The director made sure there were plenty of references to death and the comedic freezes at the end of every scene were a hoot and would not be out of place in a Victoria Wood sketch. The evening was most enjoyable and Heather and myself, thank all for their hospitality. It will not be long before the next season is upon us and I look forward to it with interest.
