Shirley Harrison delivered a wonderfully nuanced performance. Her authoritative demeanour was balanced with moments of tenderness in her delivery of “Here, Within These Walls”. Shirley’s dynamics with Kayleigh brought authenticity to the evolving relationship between the two characters. Samuel Maurice, as Sweaty Eddie, was a joy to watch, blending awkwardness and charm effortlessly. His rendition of “I Could Be That Guy” was both hilarious and endearing, earning well-deserved applause. Sam’s physical comedy and earnest delivery made Eddie a character the audience couldn’t help but root for. Rosie Plumber brought sweetness and sincerity to the role of Sister Mary Robert. Her transformation from timid novice to confident individual was beautifully portrayed, and her soaring performance of “The Life I Never Led” certainly was a standout number of the show. Claire Egerton, as Sister Mary Patrick, was a bundle of joy and energy, lighting up every scene with her infectious enthusiasm. Her comic timing and exuberant performance were perfectly matched to the role, making her a constant delight. Rounding out the leading nuns, Samantha Hughes as Sister Mary Lazarus was an audience favourite, delivering sharp one-liners and comic moments with perfect timing. Her feisty demeanour and quirky charm added a layer of humour that had the audience laughing throughout.
