ELF the musical Director Kathleen Valentine Musical Director Ceri Graves Choreography Emma Bowyer Urmston Musical Theatre First there was the film, then the stage musical, both hugely successful so the audience for this sell-out run arrived with great expectations. Any production will have to satisfy preconceived concept and characters. This musical is definitely the ideal Christmas show, the perfect start to the festive pleasures. It is fun, and not just for the young ones: it has catchy music and everyone goes home with a smile after an entertaining dose of Christmas cheer. Buddy is an orphan who finds himself at the North Pole being raised as an Elf. Buddy embarks on a journey. with Santa Claus blessing to find his true identity and birth father. Along the way he is faced with many challenges, and he has to remind New Yorkers of the true meaning of Christmas. Elf is a big show with lots of scenes which translate to a lot of work for those “Out of the Spotlight” workers. Set design, construction, decoration and properties brought the story alive.
