One of the standout moments of the evening was Erin's beautiful rendition of "Hushabye Mountain," a song that added a touch of sentimentality and was executed with great skill and emotion. Of course, no pantomime would be complete without a memorable villain, the evil witch Nightshade was the antagonist tonight. Played by Lee Dodd, Nightshade was a true pantomime villain, exuding an over-the-top, sinister energy that was perfectly matched to the role. Lee's performance was filled with dark humour, and his physicality, accent, and facial expressions made for a wonderfully entertaining villain. His improvisation skills were also on full display, particularly when dealing with rowdy audience members. I particularly enjoyed the moment when, after an audience member shouted out, Lee, in character, retorted with a chilling "I'll eat you next!" - sending the audience into fits of laughter and making his role even more memorable. Max France and Evelyn Beresford played the evil crows, Russel and Sheryl, alongside the evil witch. Max excelled with his impeccable comic timing and ability to make a small role feel larger than life. His performance was reactive, and he delivered his jokes with flair.
