performance was lighthearted and entertaining, which brought a lot of levity to the show. John Westbrook played Tom, the cheeky bachelor, who becomes romantically involved with Diana. Westbrook’s portrayal of the somewhat daft, yet endearing Tom was a joy to watch. His reactive acting and physicality brought a refreshing energy to the role, and his comic timing was spoton. Tom’s interactions with Diana were some of the most amusing moments in the show. Alex Clarke took on the role of Harvey Bains, the manager and businessman behind the retirement home. Clarke’s portrayal was excellent, particularly in his interactions with the senior residents. His performance was subtle yet effective, and he managed to evoke plenty of laughs with his portrayal of a man both submissive and authoritative, depending on the situation. Jonathan Black played multiple roles - Geoffrey Ballard, Dennis Sparrow, and the Obstetrician - each of which added a different layer to the story. Black’s strong stage presence and excellent voice work helped him command attention in each of these roles.
