It cleverly subverted many of the typical stereotypes associated with the elderly, providing rich material for comic moments. Celia Bonner played the lead role of Diana, a character who is "mortally afraid of being loved." Bonner delivered a brilliant performance, capturing Diana’s sharp wit and comic timing with ease. Diana, a former war correspondent now residing in the home, has a no-nonsense attitude, and Bonner’s facial expressions were especially effective in conveying the character’s abrasiveness. One of the standout moments was when Diana, using a laptop, searched for information online by Google - challenging the typical stereotypes of older people in a way that had the audience laughing out loud. This was Bonner’s first performance with ALT, though she has previously worked behind the scenes in tech, stage crew, and directing, which added a rich layer to her performance. Alison Gould portrayed Jane, one of the home’s somewhat ditzy managers.
