Act Reviews 2024 / 2025 Season

laughing out loud. Additionally, the pre-recorded voiceovers for the finale added to the fun and completed the sense of whimsy and chaos that the play aimed for. Costumes, coordinated by Marion Hurst, were spot-on for the characters. From the overalls and cardigans to the leather trousers and suspender belts, every costume choice was authentic and fitting for the setting. The attention to detail in the costuming helped to bring each character to life in a way that felt genuine and added to the humour of the play. Despite the fact that this production came together with less rehearsal time than usual and likely some logistical challenges due to the unexpected casting changes, it was clear that the cast, crew, and creative team had an absolute blast putting it together. Their enjoyment was infectious, and it translated directly into a highly enjoyable performance for the audience. Everyone involved clearly had a lot of fun, and that energy shone through on stage. Overall, Dirty Dusting at Droylsden Little Theatre was a fantastic evening of community theatre. The production was lively, humorous, and well-executed, with a strong cast and attention to detail in every aspect, from the set design to the costumes and lighting. A huge thank you to everyone involved for a truly memorable performance - I can’t wait to see what Droylsden Little Theatre produces next. Thanks also for the warm welcome, and I look forward to returning for future shows!
