resonated with the audience. Another shocking twist came when Sarah revealed she had an affair in the past. The revelation was particularly jarring given Sarah’s previously gentle and wellnatured character. She shared a deeply personal experience — that she had to terminate a pregnancy due to medical reasons while watching her husband grieve for a child who wasn’t his. Helena Rose Lockett handled this emotionally charged scene with impressive balance, skilfully controlling her pitch and projection to keep the audience completely riveted. Unfortunately, during one of the scene changes, a few props were accidentally dropped, causing a slight delay. While this was a minor hiccup, it did not detract from the overall quality of the performance. The simplicity of the props used throughout the play was highly effective, and the stage crew’s efforts were evident in the seamless transitions that followed. In conclusion, this production was a wonderful example of community theatre at its finest. The performances were heartfelt, the staging was effective, and the story kept the audience engaged from start to finish. The hospitality extended by Hilary and the team made the experience even more enjoyable, and the beautiful, hidden gem that is the Millennium Theatre provided the perfect setting for such an emotional and wellexecuted production. I look forward to seeing more from this talented group in the future.
